Why do people whom did nothing for you- ume that your going to jump through hoops for their wedding NOW?

This is easy. If you have already bought a gift, just tell them that unfortunately you have already bought a gift. You don't have to chip in for something if you don't want to. Don't point out that they didn't do that for you. Just say I already got a gift.
