What guitar amp should i buy?

I'm buying a new amp very soon. My price range is $250-$380 CAD. Im thinking of either getting a Vox valvetronix, or a marshall MGsomthing. I'd like it to be versatile, so i can play tons of different styles, such as clic, metal, jazz, etc. I dont know much about amplifiers, so a professional's help will be great. thanks in advance
